The legendary Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. Now, almost 45 years later, space buffs can own a piece of that history in a Bonham's auction house sale. Senior specialist, Cassandra Hatton says almost every aspect of the space program is on offer. SOUNDBITE: Cassandra Hatton, senior specialist, fine books and manuscripts and space history, Bonham's Auction House, saying (English): "We have things from Apollo 11 through Apollo 17. Space photography, models, items that have flown to the lunar surface, items that have flown around the moon, things that were owned by astronauts, that came out of their personal collections, that were signed by them." Top lot is this Apollo 11 emblem, signed by astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin. It's expected to sell for between $40,000 and $60,000 U.S. dollars. Then there's this data sheet of astronaut piloting instructions -- it boasts the valuable addition of Aldrin's hand-written notes. But if it's actual lunar dust you're after, Hatton says that poses a little more of a challenge. SOUNDBITE: Cassandra Hatton, senior specialist, fine books and manuscripts and space history, Bonham's Auction House, saying (English): "It's not legal to purchase moon rock or moon dust, so the closest you can get is if you purchase something that came from an astronaut -- that came into contact with moon dust. That's the closest you can get to owning a little tiny piece of the moon." So put on your space suits, the auction lifts off on April 8th.
