UConn fans celebrate NCAA championship

April 8 - Fans take to the streets after the University of Connecticut Huskies beat the University of Kentucky Wildcats 60 to 54. Sarah Irwin reports.

Celebrations at the University of Connecticut Monday night - after the Huskies beat the Kentucky Wildcats to clinch the NCAA national basketball championship. In Lexington, Kentucky - fans gathered defeated - after the Wildcats fell to U Conn 60 to 54 - at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Local media reported several fans were arrested on the streets - and firefighters fought a blaze that broke out at a vacant house following the NCAA parties. Banned from the post-season because of failing to meet academic standards - UConn had missed last year's NCAA tournament. But - they came back fighting this year as the 7th seed team - to triumph over the young 8th seeded Kentucky team.
