Suspect in custody after stabbing at Pennsylvania school

April 9 - Students could be seen fleeing a high school near Pittsburgh after a stabbing incident that left 20 people injured, four critically. Deborah Gembara reports.

Parents rush to a Pennsylvania high school as word spread that 20 students were injured in a stabbing here. SOUNDBITE: DAN STEVENS (English) WESTMORELAND COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPOKESMAN SAYING: "At 7:13 this morning, our 9-1-1 center received a call from the resource officer at Franklin regional high school that he need medical assistance at the school. He had multiple patients involved in a stabbing. Most of them are stab wounds to the extremities, and we do have four that were flown from the scene." The school, which isn't far from Pittsburgh, was immediately put on lockdown. The suspect is believed to be a student. SOUNDBITE: DAN STEVENS (English) WESTMORELAND COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPOKESMAN SAYING: "The actor is in custody and is being questioned by Westmoreland county detectives and the Murraysville police department. School was in session and students were arriving for their classes. This happened in classrooms and in the hallways." SOUNDBITE: ASHA KADIDAHL (English) SENIOR AT HIGH SCHOOL SAYING: "I was terrified when I found out. I almost cried, but I held them back." Colleen Tremel says she's relieved her daughter, a 11th grader here, was not injured. SOUNDBITE (English) COLLEEN TREMEL, PARENT OF UNINJURED STUDENT SAYING: "Everyday she leaves for school, I worry about this happening, so I'm glad she's safe. I know some others are not so lucky today. I don't know I can say much more. Sadly, it doesn't seem all that unusual." As for a motive, police say they are still trying to figure that out.
