A child in Orlando has died after a hit-and-run driver caused another car to crash into a daycare.
The Wednesday afternoon crash injured 13 others, many of them children and several in very serious condition, officials said.
As police investigated, parents gathered across the street, waiting for any sign of good news.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) EVETTE RIVERA, MOTHER, SAYING:
"It was tough. There was a lot of not knowing and a lot of sadness. Some of the kids not being able to communicate with the parents. So I think it's tough all around. It's always tough when there's a child involved, but I'm glad that he's okay."
Investigators removed the crashed car from the daycare Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, police are looking for a man they describe as a "person of interest" who may have been the driver.
The car - a silver Dodge Durango - was found parked at an Orlando area home, but the driver is still missing.
Officials believe the man might be trying to catch a flight out of the city.
