It's monkey business in Kansas City, Missouri. Free-spirited chimpanzees were on the loose after escaping their habitat at the Kansas City Zoo. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KANSAS CITY ZOO EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, RANDY WISTHOFF, SAYING: "We went in around the zoo here and called a code red. We got visuals on the animals. Our keepers all were in covered, closed vehicles. We got all our visitors that were in Africa to safe places. Buildings, back areas..." "Out of 12 chimps in that exhibit, 7 of them were up on the wall. Two or three of them got over on the keepers' side of the wall, they were around the holding building. At no time were they any where near public area." Officials say the chimpanzees came back on their own, with food as the final enticement.
