Bus crash survivors recall harrowing scene

April 12 - Drivers in a third vehicle involved in the deadly California bus crash say FedEx truck was already on fire before it side-swiped them and drove into bus. Vanessa Johnston reports.

Bonnie and Joe Duran are feeling lucky to be alive. Their car only narrowly escaped a collision with the FedEx truck that crashed into a bus on Thursday, killing at least 10 people. SOUNDBITE (English) CRASH SURVIVOR, BONNIE DURAN, SAYING: "I was heading along in the outside lane and I looked over and saw the FedEx truck coming straight for me, and he was in flames already." It clipped their car. But they managed to swerve safely into a ditch. SOUNDBITE (English) CRASH SURVIVOR, JOE DURAN, SAYING: "We looked at each other - what did you say?" SOUNDBITE (English) CRASH SURVIVOR, BONNIE DURAN, SAYING: "I just said we're alive!" Joe says he heard several loud booms as the truck crashed into the bus head-on near Orland, California. The bus had been filled with high school students on their way to a university campus tour. Investigators are trying to find out what made the FedEx driver lose control.
