(SOUNDBITE) (English) JUDGE, SAYING: "State of Kansas vs Frazier Cross Jr. You're Mr. Cross?" The white supremacist charged with the shooting deaths of 3 people in Kansas City made his first court appearance Tuesday. Frazier Glenn Cross appeared by video in a proceeding that lasted less than two minutes. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JUDGE, SAYING: "The charge is capital murder and first degree murder. Do you have the financial resources to hire your own attorney or are you requesting a court appointed attorney?" (SOUNDBITE) (English) FRAZIER GLENN CROSS, SAYING: "I don't have the money." A $10 million bond is holding Cross, who will likely face federal charges that also could carry the death penalty. A conviction would automatically carry a sentence of life without parole. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JUDGE, SAYING: "No drugs, no firearms. No contact with the witnesses on that complaint. Bond supervision. Do you understand that?" (SOUNDBITE) (English) FRAZIER GLENN CROSS, SAYING: "Yes."
