Students hold a vigil on a Connecticut beach for the 16-year-old girl stabbed to death at school Friday. Maren Sanchez was allegedly killed by a male student in the hallway hours before prom. Her boyfriend holds up the dress she was planning to wear. Her friend, Evelyn Castro, is still in shock. (SOUNDBITE) (English) VICTIM'S FRIEND, EVELYN CASTRO, SAYING: "Like it's really hard to deal with her dying. I don't even still believe it. But I'm taking it day by day." Friends also grieved at a makeshift memorial for Sanchez outside the school. The 16-year-old boy who allegedly killed Sanchez is in custody. Classmate Jill Davis said Sanchez and the boy had been in a dispute over prom. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CLASSMATE JILL DAVIS SAYING: "He asked her to prom and she said, 'no, I have a new boyfriend.' Like he strangled her, then he slit her throat, then stabbed her in the arm, and then ran. The cops got him, before he could run away." The prom was canceled. Instead students met with grief counselors and teachers.
