A London law firm has confirmed the worst-kept secret in show business by sending congratulations to one of its lawyers and Hollywood leading man George Clooney on their engagement. Media speculation that a wedding was in the works began over the weekend when human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, was spotted wearing a large ring on her wedding finger at a Los Angeles restaurant. The couple have said nothing and Clooney's representative declined to comment on the actor's personal life.
Beyonce and Jay Z will tour together for the first time this summer. Pop music's first couple will begin their 16-date North American tour on June 25 in Miami. Entitled "On the Run," the concert series will include stops in Pasadena, California, East Rutherford, New Jersey, as well as dates in Canada.
Paul Simon and his wife, singer-songwriter Edie Brickell, have been arrested. The duo were charged with disorderly conduct stemming from a family dispute on Saturday (April 26) and faced those charges in court on Monday (April 28). So far there has been no comment about the incident from the Grammy Award-winning singer.
Finally, Sofia Coppola will be part of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival this year. The director will join Iranian actress Leila Hatami, Willem Dafoe, and Gael Garcia Bernal among others. Cannes will run from May 15-25.
