Two inmates were killed and scores more injured in Florida Wednesday night after a gas explosion at a Pensacola jail.
Officials say anywhere from 100 to 150 prisoners and guards were injured in the blast, which practically leveled the Escambia County jail's central booking facility.
That's were some 600 inmates were being held.
One spokesperson described a frenetic scene after the blast, as officials scrambled to get people out of the building, making sure no inmate escapes.
The injured were sent to hospitals.
Prisoners not hurt in the blast were moved to other detention centers.
No prisoners were reported escaped.
Florida's under a state of emergency after torrential rains and flooding on Wednesday.
A county spokesperson says the jail was flooded during a storm and officials are trying to find out if weather played any role in the explosion.
