A Minnesota town is still in shock at what could have been a tragic event. A 17-year-old named John David LaDue was arrested, after his alleged plot to kill his family and then bomb a high school in Waseca was foiled. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CAPT. KRIS MARKESON, WASECA POLICE DEPARTMENT SAYING: "Once there he intended to set off numerous bombs during the lunch hour. Kill the school resource officer as he responded to help. Set fires, and shoot students and staff." His violent plan was stopped after a 911 caller reported "suspicious behavior" outside a storage unit on Tuesday. (SOUNDBITE) 911 CALLER, CHELSIE SCHELLHAS, SAYING: "I don't understand how you could do this. You live in Waseca, Minnesota, you're life can't be that miserable." The people who knew him are questioning why this young boy would think about going to such extremes. (SOUNDBITE) (English) STUDENT, JACK PRIBBLE, SAYING: "He seemed nice, there wasn't anything that came off angry or mean about him." Jim Kozan had jammed with LaDue in this music store. (SOUNDBITE) (English) WASECA MUSIC COMPANY, JIM KOZAN, SAYING: "He's the last person you would think of. He was always up. Very positive. It's hard for me to equate as part of that." LaDue's motives are not yet known. (SOUNDBITE) (English) WASECA PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT TOM LEE, SAYING: "The danger's been removed. It's safe and we're good." That's what's important. And so the community gives prayer and thanks for a disaster averted.
