May 6 - Four lion cubs are forced to take a dip at Washington's Smithsonian National Zoo - a rite of passage to ensure maturity. Jillian Kitchener reports.

It's like a dunk tank for lions. But it's not just fun and games. These lion cubs are taking part in a swim reliability test at Washington's Smithsonian National Zoo. Though they're not entirely impressed, the lions passed with flying colors. It's a rite of passage for large cats at the zoo. They need to prove their maturity, to navigate the pool and other potential dangers, before they join their mother in the outdoor enclosure. After drying off, getting vaccinations and a medical "sign-off", these young kings should be good to go in mid-June. ..Holding their head high in their new home.
