A five-alarm blaze rages in New Jersey's Union City.
Crews fought to control it, as flames engulfed one building after another.
Officials say the fire broke out around 2 a.m. in a first-floor deli before quickly spreading.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) LOCAL RESIDENT BRENDAN MONTENEGRO, SAYING:
"When I first got here, I was actually on the other side of the building. All the building was engulfed with flames - flames coming out of everywhere. So, it looks like it might have started on the second floor, completely took out the third floor and as you see it started taking out the rest of the houses with it."
Firefighters say the fire heavily damaged five buildings. At least two dozen residents were evacuated, but no one was injured.
They say at least three buildings will no longer be inhabitable.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
