PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS MATERIAL THAT WAS ORIGINALLY 4:3 Security camera footage captures the moment a teenage stowaway found he'd survived a freezing, oxygen-deprived journey hidden in the wheel well of an airliner. The 15-year-old Somali boy hid in the wheel well of a Boeing 767 from California to Hawaii. The youth's one of the few to survive such a journey. He was spotted by an airport worker who alerted security officers. The boy, who was treated in hospital after his ordeal, told investigators he was trying to reach Africa to find his mother. Police at San Jose in California from where the jet took off say they want to talk to him as well. (SOUNDBITE)(English) ALBERT MORALES, PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER FOR SAN JOSE POLICE DEPARTMENT, SAYING: "I realise, and I think our investigators generally understand, that he was spoken too by other officials but again, in order to conduct our own thorough investigation, we may glean some other additional information that may be helpful in our investigation." Officials say the teenager's since left protective custody in Hawaii. He's now in the care of California's child protection services in Santa Clara country where his father lives.
