May 11 - A tornado flattens buildings and knocks over trees and vehicles in a small Missouri town. Vanessa Johnston reports.

A tornado ripped through a small Missouri town on Saturday. The twister in Orrick flattened buildings, toppled trees, and flipped over cars and campers. Between 200 and 300 homes were either damaged or destroyed. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED RESIDENT OF ORRICK, MISSOURI, SAYING: "We all huddled up in the very back of our basement in the very back corner and the glass was flying at us still. Everything was flying around down there, and you could just hear the house collapse above us." Police were able to sound sirens 10 to 15 minutes before the twister hit around 5:45 in the evening. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED RESIDENT OF ORRICK, MISSOURI, SAYING: "It was a catastrophe. It's why we carry insurance, you know, for things like this. I'm going to keep smiling, keep praying, and things will be all right." The town has a population of about 820 people. Officials said there were no injuries.
