ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
San Diego County, California, ordered the evacuation of 20,000 homes Tuesday (May 13) as a wildfire moved through the North County.
San Diego County officials say the Bernardo fire southwest of Rancho Bernardo has burned more than 700 acres.
The blaze began Tuesday (May 13) morning near Del Norte High School amid hot dry and gust conditions, and flames could be seen from miles away.
Crews from various agencies attacked the flames on the ground and aboard air tankers and water-dropping helicopters.
