Ex-NFL star Hernandez charged in Boston double-murder

May 15 - Aaron Hernandez, the former NFL football star currently in jail awaiting trial for murder, has been charged in another murder case. Vanessa Johnston reports.

Former NFL football star Aaron Hernandez has been indicted for the murder of two men in a 2012 drive-by shooting in Boston.
SOUNDBITE (English) SUFFOLK COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY DAN CONLEY SAYING:
"A short time ago, the Suffolk County grand jury returned indictements charging Aaron Hernandez with two counts of first degree murder for the shooting deaths of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado. Mr. Abreu and Mr. Furtado were ambushed and executed as they drove home from Shawmut Avenue in Boston's South End in the early morning hours of July 16, 2012."
This means Hernandez is now charged with three murders.
The former tight end for the New England Patriots is already in jail awaiting trial for another murder charge.
He was cut from the Patriots shortly after his arrest in that case.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the June 2013 murder charge.
