Fires rage in Southern California with people from 15,000 homes and businesses told to evacuate. The blaze erupted just before 11 a.m. in Carlsbad just north of San Diego. Many now are fleeing the scene. (SOUNDBITE) (English)UNIDENTIFIED CALIFORNIA RESIDENT, SAYING: "There's fire over here there's fire over there. There is fire everywhere. We are surrounded right now." Firefighters are doing what they can to battle the blaze. But it was not enough for one man's home (SOUNDBITE) (English)UNIDENTIFIED CALIFORNIA RESIDENT, SAYING: "I wish they could put more water in there. I will deal with the water, but if the car are gone that's really upsetting." (SOUNDBITE) (English)UNIDENTIFIED CALIFORNIA RESIDENT, SAYING: "If it crosses the street I am going to be in trouble. Right now we are praying, praying for everybody else who is not as fortunate as we are." High temperatures and dry conditions have fanned the inferno with four separate fires now burning near San Diego.
