British director Mike Leigh walked the red carpet at Cannes on Thursday (May 15) as he competes to get his second Palme d'Or, the film festival's highest award. Also climbing the famous steps were U.S. actresses Julianne Moore, Zoe Saldana and Blake Lively, who sparkled on the red carpet with a long white sequined dress. Leigh, who has had five films in competition for the top Palme d'Or prize and won it in 1996 for 'Secrets and Lies', is presenting this year 'Mr. Turner', based on the life of English artist J.M.W. Turner. The coveted Palme d'Or will be awarded on May 24. More than 4,000 fans came out to see Hugh Jackman and the stars of the new 'X-Men' movie as they continued their international promotional tour in Singapore on Thursday (May 15) after the film's premiere the night before in the city state. Australian actor Jackman, who is playing 'Wolverine' for the seventh time in the latest film, said it was hard for him to imagine not playing that character. Godzilla seems poised to make a run at the domestic box office crown this weekend. The sci-fi flick has already made its presence known overseas were it looks to be opening at No. 1 in practically every market its screening in. "Godzilla," which stars Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen, will roll out in more than 64 countries this weekend.
