Before his easy win at the Preakness Stakes on Saturday. He's won each of his last six races, taking in nearly $3.5 million in prize money. Not what his co-owners ever expected when they bought his mother for just $8,000. SOUNDBITE: CALIFORNIA CHROME CO-OWNER STEVE COBURN SAYING: "It's hard for me because I get very emotional about it but I honestly believe that this horse is America's horse. He's giving everybody that little light bulb, when it clicks on, saying 'you know what, we can do this'." The three-year-old chestnut is only the 32nd horse to win the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness. Next stop, the Belmont Stakes in New York in June. And a chance to claim the "Triple Crown". But even before the Preakness, his owners had their eyes on the coveted title. SOUNDBITE: CALIFORNIA CHROME CO-OWNER STEVE COBURN SAYING: "I see us winning the Triple Crown. But all I can do is pray that everybody gets a clean break and the horses come home safe, and the jockeys come home safe, and let the chips fall where they may. But I do believe we're going to win the Triple Crown." If California Chrome does win at Belmont, he'll be only the 12th horse ever to capture horseracing's elusive Triple Crown.
