Robert Pattinson was out for the launch of his latest movie in Cannes, even stopping to pose for a selfie or two.
Of course, it drove one or two of his fans wild.
He's best known for playing young heartthrob Edward Cullen in "Twilight".
But he says fans will get to see him in a very different light in his new movie:
SOUNDBITE: Actor, Robert Pattinson, saying (English):
"I guess that the part in Twilight was such just a specific part, I never understood it, it's like every single part you do after Twilight is completely different from it. But this was so far away from it."
In "The Rover" Pattinson plays a hapless criminal, who's taken hostage after a robbery goes wrong.
It's set ten years in the future in a lawless Australia.
Guy Pearce joins Pattinson in the film and sees a successful career ahead for his co-star.
SOUNDBITE: Actor, Guy Pearce, saying (English):
"He's got a lot, he's a very smart kid and he's got a lot to offer and I think when you look like that, and you're that talented, and you do all the things that he can do, I think he's just got the most amazing future."
"The Rover" is part of Cannes' official selection this year and screened out of competition.
