Colorado submerged. Torrential rain on Wednesday night is to blame for this morning's scene. A super-cell thunderstorm traveled through Denver's northeast suburbs, bringing large amounts of hail and tornado warnings. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED MAN, SAYING: "Well I got an alert on my phone saying that there was a tornado warning in the area. I told my wife about the tornado warning and told her to get into the basement. I then came out, took a few pictures - made sure I had pictures of the house to make sure I could record its condition in advance. I saw what looked like rotation in the sky - a possible funnel forming, but I never saw one. And then the wind picked really bad. The hail was constant, it just went on for some time. And as you can see, it piled up quite a bit." It brings back recent memories of a seemingly endless winter. Hail the size of ping pong balls caused problems on the roads. In the city of Aurora, rain and hail flooded lawns and streets. Thunderstorms -- packed with hail and lightning -- also moved their way across Illinois and Indiana.
