While its familiar chime has signaled the start of summer for decades the iconic British ice cream van has lost its mobility in the UK, now mostly parked at tourist spots and parks. Ed Whitby, whose family business Whitby Morrison has manufactured the ice cream vans for 50 years, has witnessed the gradual decline at home. SOUNDBITE: Whitby Morrison Production Manager, Ed Whitby, saying (English) "It's perhaps what it was in the 50s, 60s here, where it was 'Wow, look at this new revolution.'
