Gunman kills one, wounds three at Christian college in Seattle

June 6 - Police are searching for what drove a man armed with a shotgun to open fire at Seattle Pacific University. Jillian Kitchener reports.

Members of a Seattle community are leaning on each other. ...Dealing with a tragic shooting at Seattle Pacific University, where person was killed and three others wounded Thursday afternoon. Police have named 26-year-old Aaron Ybarra as the suspect. (SOUNDBITE) (English) SEATTLE ASSISTANT POLICE CHIEF, PAUL MCDONAGH, SAYING: "Right now the subject will be booked into jail under the charge of investigation of murder. At this time through the investigative process it appears -- and I say it appears -- that the suspect acted alone." Police said students pinned the shooter to the ground as he tried reloading his gun. He was pepper-sprayed by a student security guard and arrested by police. Witness Chris Howard spoke to a wounded student. (SOUNDBITE) (English) WITNESS CHRIS HOWARD, SAYING: "She was basically just panicking. You know, call my mom, my call aunt, call my best friend. I need you to make these calls for me. I think I'm going to die." Police are trying to determine a motive for the shooting. They're crediting the small Christian college's staff and students for their quick reactions. (SOUNDBITE) (English) SEATTLE ASSISTANT POLICE CHIEF, PAUL MCDONAGH, SAYING: "During the incident itself, the subject was armed with a shotgun and a knife. He also had additional rounds on his person. But for the great response by the people at Seattle Pacific University, this incident might have been more tragic." At this campus church, thoughts and prayers for the victims.
