June 10 - A fierce gun battle erupts close to Pakistan's busiest airport in the city of Karachi, a day after militants stormed one of its terminals. Sarah Toms reports.

Troops in Pakistan cordon off a training academy of the airport security forces, after gunmen opened fire.
Ambulances rush to the scene and troops are deployed.
Police in Karachi are seaching the neighbourhood for the gunmen who fled when security forces hit back.
It is not clear if there are any casualties.
(SOUNDBITE) (Urdu), SPOKESMAN FOR THE AIRPORTS SECURITY FORCE (ASF) SAYING:
"Two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on Karachi's airport academy and fled after Pakistani forces retaliated. They have cleared all the affected areas nearby. We have also called rangers and police and their troops reached here on time. Now the situation is 100 percent under control, There is no terrorist here in this area, No one penetrated anywhere. Normal flight operation is also resumed and search operation is underway in the areas of Pehalwan Goth and Bhitaiyabad by the rangers and police."
The shooting was close to the country's busiest airport, where another assault took place 48 hours earlier. Dozens of people died in that attack
The Pakistani Taliban have claimed responsibility for both assaults.
