Hollywood actress and U.N. Special Envoy Angelina Jolie joined partner Brad Pitt and British Foreign Secretary William Hague in London for the final day of a global summit to end sexual violence in conflict.
The summit that is the result of a two-year partnership between Jolie and Hague to combat rape as a weapon of war.
It follows a series of violent incidents against women that was expected to raise pressure for action, including the kidnap of 200 Nigerian schoolgirls.
Katy Perry's partnering up with Staples to help bring a spotlight to teachers and students.
The singer made the announcement at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. As part of the "Make Roar Happen" effort, the office supply chain, which is the sponsor of the North American leg of Perry's Prismatic World Tour, will be donating 1 million dollars (USD) to the Donors.Choose.org, a charity group that helps fund classroom projects.
The singer's tour resumes in the U.S. on June 22.
Hollywood stars Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce walked the red carpet in Los Angeles for the North American premiere of 'The Rover', a somber film set ten years in the future, in a lawless Australia.
Best known for playing vampire Edward Cullen in the smash hit box office hit, 'The Twilight Saga', Pattinson still carries star power with his fans.
The film opens nationwide on Friday, June 20th.
