Serena Williams was among the leading ladies of the tennis world who attended the Women Tennis Association's glamorous pre-Wimbledon party in London on June 19th.
The American is number one seed for Wimbledon and has already won the singles tournament five times. But can she make it a sixth?
SOUNDBITE: Serena Willams, tennis player, saying (English):
''I hope so. I was trying to do it next year but the beautiful thing is I have another chance this year so I am going to try, let's see what happens."
Her sister Venus, also a five-time Wimbledon champion but seeded number 30 going into this year's event, denied any talk of sibling rivalry.
SOUNDBITE: Venus Williams, tennis player, saying (English):
''No not at all I am so happy to see her win. We have also won I think five times the doubles I think so it's even on all fields so now one of us will just be proud and the other one will be motivated, hopefully one of us could win again one of these years.'
Russian fifth seed Maria Sharapova turned heads arriving in a sports car with former Formula One driver Mark Webber -- her confidence boosted with her recent win at the French Open.
SOUNDBITE: Maria Sharapova, tennis player, saying (English):
''Yes of course it's great to come into a grand slam like Wimbledon with a grand slam win just a couple of weeks ago. Obviously, it's such a quick turnaround and I hope that I physically and mentally will be ready for a new challenge ahead of me.'
The Wimbledon tournament starts on June 23rd.
