The latest negotiations to settle the dispute over Iran's nuclear activities wrap up in Vienna. Tehran and the five permanent members of the UN security council along with Germany are trying to meet a July 20 deadline for a deal. The Iranian Foreign minister made it clear there was no consensus yet on an agreement to end sanctions in exchange for curbs on Tehran's nuclear programme. He said there had been progress but major disputes remained. (SOUNDBITE) (English) IRAN'S FOREIGN MINISTER, MOHAMMAD ZARIF, SAYING: "All sides need to come to the negotiating table with a view to resolving this issue, not simply to repeating their positions. Because if positions were able to resolve this issue, this issue would have been resolved a long time ago. So that has been our approach. Unfortunately, that is not what we have seen from the other side. And maybe part of it is not unexpected because of the fact the other side is consisting of several countries with different perspectives, different interests sometimes and different constituencies to which they need to respond... and that has been the problem." The P5+1 countries want to scale back Iran's nuclear activities to ensure that it cannot assemble a nuclear weapon. Iran, which insists its nuclear work is peaceful, wants to end sanctions that have crippled the economy. The next round of talks is due to take place on 2 July.
