Pies fly in Russia with pizza delivering drones

A pizza chain in northern Russia begins to deliver pizza by Russian-made drones. Elly Park reports.

A pizza chain in northern Russia is flying high, thanks to their latest delivery drones. This chopper drone is equipped with a video camera and a pizza-lowering device that drops the hot pies exactly in the hands of the customer. Dodo Pizza's founder Fyodor Ovchinnikov is pleased with the new delivery method. SOUNDBITE: Dodo Pizza Chain Founder Fyodor Ovchinnikov, saying (Russian) "Guys have invented a device that lowers pizza from the altitude of thirty metres while it's still hot. A very fast delivery." According to the company the drones can fly up to 40 kilometers, or 25 miles per hour. They say that on the first day six commercial pizza deliveries were made by drones. It's fast and efficient....and what's more? The drones don't require tips.
