A Spanish court upholds corruption charges against Princess Cristina de Borbon and her husband Wednesday. They're accused of money laundering and tax fraud. In court appearances, Princess Cristina and her husband, Inaki Urdangarin, have denied wrongdoing. This is her lawyer, Miguel Roca, Wednesday: (SOUNDBITE)(Spanish) LAWYER OF PRINCESS CRISTINA, MIGUEL ROCA, SAYING: "We obviously don't agree with this decision. We are aware of the magistrate's opinion but we don't agree with it and we are going to appeal against this decision before the Audience (of Palma de Mallorca)." The royal family has lost favor with the public in recent years after a series of scandals. Barely a week ago, Cristina's father, King Juan Carlos, abdicated in favor of his son Felipe in a bid to revive their image. But the latest corruption charges could be a blow. People on the streets of Madrid believe the princess should be treated like everybody else. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) MADRID RESIDENT, JOSE GARCIA , SAYING: "It is a matter of logic. If there is evidence to charge her, it is logic that she is processed as any other person that commits a crime. She isn't more nor less than any of us." (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) MADRID RESIDENT, MILA GOMEZ, SAYING: "We all pay for our bad actions and they don't. That bothers me a lot. There is always impunity for them while the rest of people have to pay for their small or big bad actions. That's why I don't want to hear or talk about those things." Princess Cristina did not attend last week's coronation. She and her husband have been barred from official royal events since the investigation gathered pace.
