Safety issues continue to plague General Motors - temporarily putting the brakes on sales of the Chevy Cruze - the company's top seller in North America. GM is now telling dealers to go ahead and sell any new or used models of the compact, according to the New York Times, lifting a sales freeze put in place earlier in the week as the company prepares yet another recall. The driver-side air bag in the 2013-12014 Cruze may not inflate in a crash, the company says, so it is planning to recall 33,000 of the Chevy Cruze, some which are still on dealer lots but "many" of which are already in consumers hands. An official recall with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is expected to be filed soon. So far this year, GM has issued 44 recalls involving roughly 20 million vehicles, including an issue with faulty ignition switches blamed for at least 13 deaths. GM advisor Ken Feinberg is expected to announce compensation related to those deaths on Monday.
