Passengers aboard this United Airlines flight had a scare in the skies Sunday night. An evacuation slide opened up during the flight from Chicago to California. SOUNDBITE: UNITED PASSENGER DIANE MONDINI, SAYING: "You heard a big bang and a hiss and they had a panicked look and they quickly took the carts and ran backwards toward the front of the plane and we all turned around and the whole back of the cabin where they sat was full of the chute." The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Wichita. United says 96 passengers and five crew members were on board. No one was hurt. SOUNDBITE: UNITED PASSENGER DIANE MONDINI, SAYING: "The first thing that went through my mind was the chute opened, it probably popped out the door which meant that we'd lose pressure immediately, but luckily that didn't happen, it just inflated inside." A maintenance crew is inspecting the plane to determine why the slide opened up during the flight.
