And his father is disgusted:
(SOUNDBITE) (English) FATHER OF TAREQ ABU KHUDAIR, SALAH EL-DIN ABU KHUDAIR, SAYING:
"Why you hit a boy, fifteen years old, in this way? And you let him to stay in a police station from eight o'clock evening till one o'clock after midnight without any medical treatment? Why?"
Israeli police said the incident occurred when six masked demonstrators were being arrested, some of them carrying knives.
But the Khudair family says their son was merely watching.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) MOTHER OF TAREQ ABU KHUDAIR, SUHA ABU KHUDAIR, SAYING:
"Yes, it did go through my head that he could have been murdered like his cousin. But thank God, it was just... beaten..I don't what to say. I'm just still in a state of shock and I'm at a loss of words."
