Firefighters try to save homes from a growing wildfire that has spread to 7,000 acres in Northern California. Linda So reports.

Dry conditions are fueling a raging wildfire in Northern California that has now grown to 7,000 acres. Hundreds of firefighters have been battling the Monticello fire since Friday. The fast-moving flames forcing mandatory evacuations for several rural communities near the Monticello dam during the holiday weekend. SOUNDBITE: JOSIE MCBRIDE, CANYON CREEK RESORT CAMPGROUND, SAYING: "A lot of people were gone for the fireworks but at the same time the people who were here at the campground we just wanted to make sure they were alerted so they could safely get out." Firefighters are having a hard time containing the blaze because it's located in a remote area with rugged terrain.
