The glass pipes were on display at this marijuana dispensary in Seattle over the weekend. Shops like Cannabis City are getting ready for their big reveal set for Tuesday. That's when Washington becomes only the second state, after Colorado, to allows recreational cannabis sales. But expect long lines and high prices on Tuesday. The state started licensing pot growers back in March but only a dozen of the growers actually have marijuana ready for shipment. Shop owners are worried they'll run out of marijuana within days, possibly even just hours, . And less pot means a premium on prices. Some buyers might pay as much as $30 per gram, roughly twice the going rate. At those prices, said one analyst, heavy users will stick with drug dealers to get their fix. There's a backlog of hundreds of would-be growers that still need to be screened and approved by the state. One shop owner in Seattle says it'll be at least five years before his store can catch up with demand.
