At least six people are killed including four civilians and two Afghan police officers after a group of suicide bombers attacked a government building in Kandahar.
While Kandahar is cradle of the Taliban insurgency -- it's not clear who launched the attacks.
Eleven suicide bombers were involved in the attack. Some were killed.
(SOUNDBITE) (Pashto) ABDUL QAYUM, POLICE OFFICER, SAYING:
"We have shot dead seven suicide bombers after they attacked the government building.
On Wednesday the UN issued a report saying that the Afghan war is increasingly leaving a devastating toll on the civilian population.
