And on Wednesday, militants fired more rockets at Tel Aviv.
This, as an Israeli offensive in the Hamas-dominated Gaza Strip intensifies.
Palestinian officials say the attacks have wounded at least 150 people and killed at least 37.
Including a top Gaza militant, his two brothers and parents, according to Hamas media and the Gaza interior ministry.
Israeli businesses have remained open, but the rocket fire has sent people racing for bomb shelters, and left Jerusalem residents shaken.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) FRENCH WORKER IN JERUSALEM, YANN, SAYING:
"It is strange because this morning I was hearing it on the French radio because there no dome, anti-missile dome to protect Jerusalem. So it's scaring me a little to be honest. It's scaring me a little to be honest with you, and I have no clue, I have no idea the sequences of the rocket attacks here, yesterday. I hope everything will be better for everybody."
The Israeli army has released footage of an aircraft targeting what it says was a weapon storage facility in a civilian area in Gaza.
