TV AND WEB RESTRICTIONS~**NONE** Day three of Israel's conflict with Gaza and the strip has suffered its deadliest attack so far. Eight members of one Palestinian family were killed in a rocket attack on Thursday. Five of them were children. Palestinian officials say at least 66 Palestinians, more than 50 of them civilians, have died in the violence so far. Israel says its offensive is needed to halt rocket fire at its cities from the Gaza Strip. As yet there have been no serious casualties on the Israeli side, but the barrages have paralysed businesses in southern communities. The continued offensive has drawn increasing concern internationally. On Wednesday U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged Israel to show restraint, warning the situation could spiral out of control. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.N. SECRETARY-GENERAL BAN KI-MOON SAYING: "The risk of violence expanding further still is real. Gaza and the region as a whole cannot afford any other full-blown war." Israeli leaders have warned the campaign may be lengthy and widen into a ground invasion of one of the world's most densely populated territories.
