Two time Oscar winning actress Hilary Swank brought a little A-list star power to put a spotlight on Berlin fashion week, which has only been running since 2007 but is appearing to gain traction internationally.
The actress naturally was asked whether she believed that the Germans had an edge with their fashion over the Brits, the Italians and the French.
SOUNDBITE actress Hilary Swank, saying (English)
"I think they are totally stylish. I think style is about a person's personality, and so I think the city reflects the personality of the people."
Swank was there to watch the Marc Cain catwalk show and was even wearing a dress which consequently appeared on the catwalk.
Marc Cain, which is designed by Karin Veit, has been an established fashion house since the seventies. For this collection, Veit focused on feminine robes in pastel shades with flowery prints and decorative blossoms.
Berlin fashion week ran from July 9th to 11th with more than 50 designers showing off their spring/summer collections.
