Suspected car thief dies in head-on crash with bus

Authorities say a suspected car thief is dead after driving in the wrong direction on an Indiana highway and crashing head on into a Greyhound bus. Linda So reports.

Traffic was backed up for miles on Interstate 70 in Richmond, Indiana Sunday. Authorities say a head-on collision killed a suspected car thief and injured 19 others. SOUNDBITE: UNIDENTIFIED SHERIFF'S DEPUTY, SAYING: "We had a Greyhound bus involved in this accident as well as a passenger vehicle." That passenger vehicle, a Ford Mustang was crushed, killing the driver. Investigators say the Mustang was driven by a man who stole the car at a truck stop and got on the highway in the wrong direction. It collided head on with a Greyhound bus. SOUNDBITE: UNIDENTIFIED SHERIFF'S DEPUTY, SAYING: "Upon the arrival of officers on the scene we did determine that we have one fatality." Nineteen people on the bus and the driver were hurt. The Greyhound was heading from St. Louis to New York City.
