A sad day for workers at Atlantic City's Trump Plaza. About 1,000 employees were pink slipped Monday as the casino is expected to close in September. SOUNDBITE: LOUIS CIABATONI, TRUMP PLAZA EMPLOYEE, SAYING: "It's definitely glum everybody's depressed and they're trying to be optimistic." News of Trump Plaza's expected closure comes as Atlantic City is dealing with major hits to its gaming industry. Up to four casinos could shut down this year alone. SOUNDBITE: ROGER GROS, GLOBAL GAMING BUSINESS MAGAZINE, SAYING: "It's going to have a pretty devastating impact on Atlantic City. We're looking at a quarter of the casino employees leaving town." Atlantic City's casinos have withered under competition from those in neighboring states, making the future of gaming along the shore uncertain.
