Under the intensity of the Oregon sun, a fast-growing wildfire is spreading through brush and timber in the southern part of the state.
Dozens of homes have been destroyed and more than 100 people have been evacuated as crews attack the flames from the air and the ground.
So far, no one's been hurt in the fire that has spread to more than 2,900 acres since it began on Sunday.
Investigators are trying to figure out how it started.
The blaze is the latest to strike in the drought-parched Western states as the summer fire season heats up.
In California, firefighters are battling an intense wildfire in a remote canyon in the northern part of the state that's believed to have started from an illegal marijuana growing operation.
