Burned out cars are among the ruins of Tuesday's deadly shelling in the eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk. A dead body covered by a sheet drenched in blood lays at a bus stop. City officials say at least eight people are dead, including one child. 52 people are taken to the hospital. One resident explains how he survived. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) LUHANSK RESIDENT, VLADIMIR, SAYING: "There were explosions. There's a crater over there (pointing at crater). Our windows have been shattered. My friend's cafe is destroyed. What can I say? We are shocked. What else can I say? We were hiding in bathrooms. So we heard everything, but no one saw anything. We only heard." Another resident says she was away at the time of the incident, but is shocked by the aftermath. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) LUHANSK RESIDENT AND OWNER OF CAFE DAMAGED BY SHELLING, NO NAME GIVEN, SAYING: "I was not here, so I can't say what's happened. My husband got a call and told me that everything caught on fire. That's all. You can see the aftermath. I am shocked. The most important is that people died here. That is the most important." Officials say 5,000 people have been left without electricity -- 4,000 without water. On Sunday, at least two people were killed by night shelling in a village near Donetsk. Most of its residents have fled the fighting between the Ukrainian army and pro-Russian rebels, which has been raging for three months. Both sides have accused the other of shelling residential areas.
