Rare natural quadruplet pregnancy is 'one in millions'

A Colorado woman is expecting guadruplets and she didn't use fertility treatments, in a pregancy so rare her doctor says it's ''one in millions''. Mana Rabiee reports.

Thirty-year-old Melissa Reid is expecting quadruplets. Four babies, and she wasn't using fertility drugs. In fact, she and husband Matt weren't even trying for a baby. SOUNDBITE: EXPECTANT MOTHER OF FOUR, MELISSA REID, SAYING: "We weren't planning on having a baby, we were actually preventing so it was a big surprise." She's 32 weeks into her pregnancy. And under close watch at the University of Colorado hospital in Denver, hundreds of miles from home. That's because a natural quadruplet pregnancy is just so rare. SOUNDBITE: SPECIALIST DR. MEGHAN DONNELLY SAYING: "Melissa is one in millions, we can't even quantify how rare this condition is." She's expecting two boys... SOUNDBITE: EXPECTANT MOTHER OF FOUR, MELISSA REID, POINTING TO HER BELLY AND SAYING: "A is a boy and he's here." ...and two girls. SOUNDBITE: SPECIALIST DR. MEGHAN DONNELLY MANEUVERING THE ULTRA SOUND MACHINE AND SAYING: "You can see C is wiggling like crazy in there." The quadruplets are due in September. Four babies will be a handful, but Matt Melissa are already the proud parents of four other children. SOUNDBITE: EXPECTANT MOTHER OF FOUR, MELISSA REID, POINTING TO HER BELLY AND SAYING: "I wanted to be done actually after our last one obviously God had other plans for us." With so many kids around, she's counting on her family to lend a hand.
