A fast-moving California wildfire near Sacramento explodes from just 30 acres to 1,300, prompting quick evacuations by nervous residents. Mana Rabiee reports.

The flames of a fast-moving wildfire in Northern California cast an eery orange glow at sunset Friday. The so-called Sands Fire broke out on Friday just north of the town of Plymouth near Sacramento. It exploded from just 30 acres to some 1,300 -- forcing quick evacuations by dozens of anxious homeowners along this country road. SOUNDBITE: DOLORES STEPHENSON, EVACUEE, SAYING: "The sheriff came to the door and said you have to evacuate now." Jon Sanders decided there was just enough time to hose down his home before getting out. SOUNDBITE: Jon Sanders, EVACUEE, SAYING: "I got all my stuff loaded, my trucks pointed or the driveway all I can do is prevention at this point." The fire's crossed a river into more rugged terrain. That's hampering efforts by fire fighters to corral the blaze. Fire crews are trying to protect homes as well as nearby vineyards and a winery. Investigators are reportedly trying to find out if a burning car may have started the fire.
