An Israeli air strike kills at least 10 people and wounds about 30 others at a U.N.-run school in the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian official says. Jillian Kitchener reports.

An Israeli air strike killed at least 10 people here, and wounded 30 others.
The Israeli military has been battling militants in the town of Rafah -- striking the entrance of the school Palestinians were using as a shelter, without warning.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MAN WOUNDED IN ISRAELI STRIKE ON UN-RUN SCHOOL, TAREK SAID, SAYING:
"I was standing lighting a cigarette outside the school, the next thing I knew I was laying on the ground, with a back and neck injury."
The wounded are rushed to an overcrowded hospital, some receiving treatment without a proper bed.
This, as Israeli troops pull away from the Gaza border. A Lieutenant-Colonel says the troops are being redeployed.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says they will continue their fight against Hamas, protecting their citizens against a militant group that continues to fire rockets toward their major cities.
