Charles Joly is crowned the Bartender of the Year in London after a week of fierce competition. Elly Park reports.

They shake, stir and pour for the coveted title of the Bartender of the Year.
Four dozen contestants from around the world convened in the UK to represent their country in one of the most prestigious mixology contests in the world.
Over the course of one week they competed in six challenges testing their creativity and speed to impress a tough panel of judges.

"This is not just a job. It's a passion. It's an art, and we are artists at work, and being artistic, being creative, we deserve to be recognized."
Eventually, it was American Charles Joly who stirred up the best drink with his signature cocktail, "Above the Clouds".
Despite the honor, Joly says he will continue making drinks with both feet firm on the ground.

"I'm still going to be shaking cocktails for a very long time, and working in this business in one way or another, so it's very, very nice to be able to reel this in."
Those who want a sip of the best cocktail in the world will have to travel to Chicago though, where Joly heads the bar of luxury lounge, "The Aviary".
