The Oscar Pistorius murder trial is wrapping up, after months of heated debate in the courtroom.
The disabled athlete known as "Bladerunner" faces life in prison, if found guilty of premeditated murder in the death of his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
...and with closing arguments underway, State Prosecutor Gerrie Nel is charging forward:
(SOUNDBITE) (English) STATE PROSECUTOR, GERRIE NEL, SAYING:
"We say, My Lady, it's the State's case that the accused was a deceitful witness and the court should have no difficulty in rejecting his core version of events not only as not reasonably possibly true but in essence as being absolutely devoid of any truth."
Throughout the trial, Nel (known as "The Pitbull") has portrayed Pistorius as a gun-obsessed hothead who shot his girlfriend through a locked toilet door.
But lead defense attorney Barry Roux is fighting back. Continuing to press the case for his client's innocence, saying the shooting was a tragic accident.
Closing arguments are expected to wrap-up Friday.
