With their guns held high - Islamic State fighters begin to take prominent landmarks in Iraq - including the Mosul dam.
In this amateur video Reuters cannot independently verify, the Islamic State flag flies above the dam as flatbed trucks patrol areas.
Controlling the dam would mean a major gain for the militant fighters as it would allow them to open the floodgates, threatening cities and civilians.
It also would allow them to cut of a vital source of water and control the electricity.
They've also raised their flags above government buildings, and took control of a nearby hospital.
ISLAMIC STATE FIGHTERS BESIDE TANK, FIGHTER SAYING (Arabic): "Our message to the whole world: we are soldiers of the caliphate and we are coming, God willing."
An engineer at the Mosul dam said that the fighters brought in workers to fix a power line to the city -- which has lost power for days.
