Residents in the rebel-held eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk have packed their bags and are getting on a train bound for Russia. They've been at the mercy of Ukrainian forces and their intensified shelling -- and they say they've had enough. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) ELENA FROLOVA, DONETSK RESIDENT, SAYING: "It is impossible to live here. There is no electricity, no water. And there is shelling every day. How can we live this way?...For now we have a place to go. We have relatives in Oryol. After that, I don't know what we are going to do." Meanwhile, black smoke rises above a telecommunications building in the separatist and self-proclaimed "People's Republic" of Donetsk, after it was hit by shells from Ukrainian forces. The shelling lasted for some eight hours on Sunday, local residents said. The city faces a shortage of food, water and electricity, as the central government in the capital Kiev attempts to retake control. For some residents, a journey to Moscow is a last-ditch effort to safety...even if they have to bid their loved ones goodbye.
